It’s capable of recording in 4096 x 2160 pixel Cinema 4K at up to 60 fps from a central section of the sensor, giving an approximately 1.3x crop. A huge 800MBps bit-rate with 4:2:2 chroma subsampling and BT.601 broadcast standard colour output promises high quality footage. Recording time is up to 29min 59sec.
The R5 features Canon’s latest Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system, which is faster and more accurate than the original Dual Pixel CMOS AF found in the EOS 5D Mark IV. The EOS R5 can also detect and track the eyes and faces of animals, which can be useful for wildlife photography.
The Canon EOS R6 Mark II is the follow-up to 2020's Canon EOS R6. This mid-cycle refresh has a few notable upgrades, including a higher-resolution sensor and EVF, along with an updated autofocus system with better tracking and detection algorithms. Canon's also addressed some of the minor drawbacks of the original R6 for advanced video work
