There is a simple fix for all of this. Buy a HDD/SSD cloner/formatter that supports m.2 I've seen Linus do it. Clone everything from the og m.2 onto the larger replacement and it should just boot unless the ssd is hardware locked like they used to with the Xbox disc drives.
